What really goes into our products?
The photo below shows batches of soap curing on the drying racks. This is an important part of the finished product and ensures that the saponification process has completed fully.

Only the finest and wholly natural ingredients are used in our soap making method. For example, illite (a type of fine green clay) is used as one of the colourants. All bars are made with olive oil, coconut oil and shea butter. Only 100% essential oils are used to scent the soaps.
We do not use SLS or parabens (a group of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries) in any of our products and none are tested on animals.
We're also proud that our handmade soaps comply with all legislation governing the manufacture of soaps in the UK and the EU. Our labels list all ingredients used and adhere to current EU regulations. Weighing is carried out on trading-standards approved stamped scales.
At Hearts and Homespun, we believe that you and your skin will notice the difference.
